Year End Manager Duties: Team Books and Checkbooks

Team Checkbooks and Team Books need to be returned to SAHA
as soon as possible!

TEAM BOOKS can be dropped off at the Rec Center desk OR at the Monday, March 19th Board Meeting:

  • Please leave team books behind the Rec counter for Tammy Freeman.
  • DO NOT leave checkbooks with the team books!  This is not a secure location.  We do not want blank checkbooks getting into the wrong hands.
  • CONTACT Tammy Freeman at tammya.freeman@gmail.com with team book questions.

CHECKBOOKS can be dropped off at any Lake Elmo Bank location with the receptionist to the ATTENTION of Dan or Deb Raleigh:

  • Please leave checkbooks, expense reports, receipts, etc...in a LABELED envelope.
  • Leave a $20 balance in the account.
  • CONTACT Deb Raleigh at debraleigh@lakeelmobank.com with balance, transaction, or other team account questions.

Ice Scheduler Opening

SAHA is looking for an Ice Scheduler for the 2012-2013 season.  Basic computer skills are required, but nothing extraordinary.

SAHA will be implementing a NEW format for scheduling ice.  The job will break-down as follows...

1) Use team estimates to collect inventory in June-July:  Local and other rinks as needed

2)  Block-out game and tournament dates

3)  Push full-season schedules by team

4)  Take primary responsibility for ice as a cost while level ice coordinators manage adjustments after August

5)  Guide season-long process, absent need to adjust/update individual team calendars once we're running in the fall

This is only a ROUGH description, but we are enthusiastic about our new approach this coming year.

If interested, please contact Clyde Wagner at 612-281-3351 or Mike Timmons at 651-342-1305.

CDC Concussion Training: Required for ALL Coaches & Parents

Click here for all the details

Minnesota Governor Mark Dayton signed a new bill into law on June 8, 2011 that now requires all coaches to sideline athletes who show signs of a concussion.  Those athletes cannot return to activity until they get cleared by a state licensed MEDICAL health care provider.  Minnesota now joins 20 states with similar laws taking effect.

The law took effect September 1, 2011

This applies to all players, in all sports, under the age of 18 and applies to ALL youth sports organizations both PUBLIC and PRIVATE.

The law also requires that parents have access to information on the risks and symptoms of concussions and coaches must have training on concussions once every 3 years.

COACHES, please use the following link to take the required, free, quick, online concussion training session.  Print the completion certificate---it must be filed in your Team Book.
