Congratulations to the Squirt A and Bantam A "Buddy" Teams for helping to collect used sports equipment and donations for Youth Advantage on Saturday night at the boys' high school game. And thank you to the Squirt and Bantam A parents and coaches for helping to organize and manage the event, especially Jerry and Brook Darby, Steve Courteau and Jim Jungmann.
When the donated equipment was dropped off at Youth Advantage on Sunday morning, their staff was very excited to see all the equipment and to see their inventory of hockey gear double. In addition, close to $350 in cash donations was received!
Below is a rough estimate of what was collected:
Thanks to everyone you participated and contributed, it was certainly a successful night! The boys had fun working together in shifts as well as playing soccer out in front of the rec center, boot hockey on the outdoor rink and watching the varsity team score 6 goals in second period on their way to a 7-1 win over Hastings. It was a great game with a great crowd and we hope everyone got their hats back (nice hat trick for Brian Jungwirth!).
If you find more stuff at a later date, check out the Youth Advantage website for information and donate!
