Boys Tryout and Pre-Skate Information

2011-2012 Boy's Tryout Information

These dates are all inclusive and are subject to change.  Your player will not be trying out on all the dates/times listed for their level.  Your player will be placed on a "team" and notified of their "team's" specific tryout dates and times.  Please make note of the dates and times for your player's level and plan accordingly.

How to Register for Pre-Skates
(Boys’ Traveling Program Only)

There has been some confusion about how to register for the SAHA Pre-Skates for the Boys Traveling program. The SAHA registration you may have already completed does NOT automatically enroll you in the SAHA Pre-Skates. This season, SAHA has asked The Edge Performance Hockey Training to run the SAHA Pre-Skates to help Squirt, Pee Wee, and/or Bantam athletes prepare for tryouts.

If you would like to participate in the SAHA Boy's Pre-Skates, you must register and pay via The Edge website at www.edge-hockey.com.

You will need to log in to The Edge website to begin your registration. To log in, you may use the same Username and Password that you use to access the SAHA website.

****Girl's Traveling Pre-Skates will be facilitated by the SAHA Girls' Program.
Pre-skate fees were included in the SAHA online registration process.  All girls players 10U and above will participate in pre-skates and will be notified by the Girl's Program as to scheduled dates and times.

Mite 3 Move Up Reminder

 

REMINDER 

A mite move-up is on the front-end of 3-years at Squirts. Unless a move-up scores within the top 1/3 in tryouts he will not be selected for a B team. SAHA does not share scores or relative rankings, so please don’t ask. The SAHA C program is a competitive, appropriate level for mite move-ups. Our C-program is strong thanks to these high-energy boys and the many coaches that tend to have their players participate in the move-up program. With three years of squirt eligibility, unless a boy is basically well above C-caliber play SAHA does not support displacing older squirts from B teams with players that have 3 years remaining at squirts. Over three years only 2 players have been selected for a B-team as a move-up.

If you are not satisfied with this policy because you fear the C-program is a “backwater” for your player, contact any of the following individuals and they will tell you that it has been a positive experience for the move-ups and for the entire program.
