Managers Corner

MN Hockey Screening and Consent Form

ALL team managers MUST annually submit a completed MN Hockey Screening and Consent Form to the SAHA Registrar, Tammy Freeman, PRIOR to being rostered with the team.  A copy of the form is provided below.

Forms may be mailed to SAHA or placed in the SAHA lobby box at the Rec Center.

Team Locker Room Monitors

A GENDER APPROPRIATE locker room monitor MUST be present in the locker room AT ALL TIMES --INCLUDING during pre/post game coach's meetings with the players.  

All TEAM LOCKER ROOM MONITORS must submit a MN Hockey Screening and Consent Form.  A copy of the form is provided below.

SAHA Manager's Handbook

The Manager's Handbook is a LIVING document and is CURRENTLY UNDER CONSTRUCTION.  It will be continually modified as policies and practices change.  Please refer to the Handbook as needed but do not hesitate to contact the Board with any questions, suggestions, or concerns. 

 



GAME CLOCK SIMULATOR

Click on the link below to practice on a Game Clock Simulator.  This is a tool to practice and familiarize yourself with running a game clock. 

Instructions:

  • Click the power switch to "on" (upper left corner).
  • Type "yes" in the "continue game"  dialogue box, then click on "Enter*Yes".
  • Click on the desired function, enter information using keypad, click "Enter*Yes".  You must click "Enter*Yes" after every entry.  (This step is necessary with the actual game clock as well).
  • The "start/stop" controls the clock.
  • Play around with it---you'll get the hang of it in no time!

The Basics...

Team Book

  • SAHA will provide all Managers with a team book.  The team book contains all of your players names, signatures and birth certificates.
  • Always bring the team book to your games and tournaments.
  • If you have not received your team book, contact Tammy Freeman  

Scorebook

  • SAHA will provide all Managers with a Scorebook.
  • On game days, the Visiting Team always provides the Scorebook.
  • Distribute the completed Official Score Sheets after the game to:
    • Winning Team Mail to Level Coordinator- Copy 1
    • Referee-  Copy 2
    • Home Team- Copy 3
    • Visiting Team- Copy 4
  • It is the responsibility of the winning team to send the White (Copy 1) Score sheet to District 2.

Game Day- Staff Responsibilities

  • All managers should plan ahead and get your parents signed up to work the scheduled games.
  • Home team is responsible for providing a resource to run the clock.
  • Home team is responsible for providing a resource to work a penalty box.
  • Visiting team brings the Scorebook and keeps it.
  • Visting team is also responsible for having a resource work the penalty box.
