February 24, 2015: Stillwater, MN - On Monday night the Stillwater B1 Peewee team defeated Mahtomedi 4-3 to finish 2nd in the District 2 Play-offs. The team rebounded from a tough loss on Sunday, where it lost one of its key players, defenseman Aftyn Lehman (Big Buff), to a leg fracture. 

It was a back and forth game, with each team coming from behind to end 3-3 after regulation time.  At Coach Stu Ronsberg's direction, he urged the boys to "end it quickly".  Less than two minutes into overtime, Sam Armstrong fired a shot from the left point that found the upper left corner of the net.

The team celebrated on the ice, near the boards where Aftyn stood nearby on crutches cheering his teammates.  It was a good victory against arguably Stillwater's top rival.

The team has now qualified for the B1 regions, where they are a #2 seed.  Region play begins Friday, February 27.  Game #1 - is against Rum River, at 2:30 pm, Fogerty Arena in Blaine.
