We will have teams at the following levels this year (dependent on registration numbers):                                                                                         

• SQC x 2, SQB x 2, SQB1 x 2, SQA  
• PWC x 2, PWB2 x 3, PWB1, PWA, PWAA
• BC, BB2 x 2, BB1, BA, BAA 
• JG U16 , JGB, JGA

Skaters will be issued two jerseys for tryouts which they will keep for the entire tryout. Feel free to wash them in between sessions if needed. We will communicate a turn in date via email which will take place after tryouts.

You are responsible to return the jerseys when requested. The jerseys will need to be washed upon turning them in. Any jersey not turned in will result in a $11 charge per jersey.

- Players will be issued a Numbered jersey

- Players shall wear a helmet with NO IDENTIFYING TEAM MARKINGS or STICKERS (AAA, Teams Names, etc).  

- NO TEAM NAMES allowed on helmets, breezers or breezer covers. 

- Socks must be standard issued SAHA socks (previous seasons) or black, red or white practice socks. 

- Both socks must be the same color (Must wear matching socks).  

- Wear all your standard hockey equipment including mouth guards.

- Check your hockey bag each day before tryouts.

The tryout/evaluation dates have been set for Bantams, Peewees and Squirts. Please read the charts below for location and dates. Subject to change, so please refer back to this page to confirm. 

SAHA tryouts are closed to the public. No parents watching with the exception of approved coaches, evaluators/coordinators and board members.  Squirt parents will be allowed to enter to assist with skates. Please exit swiftly upon completion because the session will not begin until everyone has cleared.

IMPORTANT NOTE: THERE IS A NEW TRYOUT PROCEDURE FOR PEEWEES AND BANTAMS.  IN ORDER TO COMPETE FOR THE AA OR A LEVEL TEAMS YOU MUST REGISTER FOR THE AA TRYOUT.  PLAYERS WHO WISH TO OPT OUT OF THE AA/A TRYOUT SHOULD REGISTER FOR THE B1 LEVEL TRYOUT OPTION. SHOULD YOUR ATHLETE TRYOUT AND NOT MAKE A   AA OR A TEAM, THEY WILL GO THROUGH THE B TRYOUT PROCESS.  **Players making thru the A scrimmage, but not on an A Team, will be placed on a B1 Team without going back through the B tryouts**

THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION DESCRIBES THE NEW TRYOUT PROCESS.

The number of players at each stage of the evaluation process will be determined by the players collective scores and feedback from the evaluators.  Roster sizes will be determined by registration numbers at each level and the outcome of the evaluation process.

PLEASE CHECK THIS AGAIN BEFORE TRYOUTS! SORRY NO REQUEST FOR CHANGES WILL BE MADE!

Goalie Tryout Ice is noted in the schedule above.  From there, the goalies will then be assigned into regular tryout level pools.  IT IS CRITICAL THAT GOALIES DO NOT MISS GOALIE TRYOUTS! 

We wish all players the best during the tryout process! It is our goal to provide the best opportunity for players to show case their talents as a hockey player. This will ensure they are placed at the correct level to give them best best opportunity to have fun and for their long-term development.

• Players are segregated in to 4 groups. We attempt to create 4 balanced teams for the initial tryout sessions. (Groups will alternate pairings for each session)

• First cuts will be made after Day 2. Cut players will report to the B1 tryouts.

• Second cuts will be made after Day 4. Cut players will report to the A practice/scrimmage tryout session. 

• Final rosters for the AA team will be determined after the outside scrimmage. All players in the outside scrimmage who do not make the AA team will report to the A practice/scrimmage session.

• Cuts can be made on any day depending on numbers and relative talent level.
