The SAHA Annual Board of Directors Election is scheduled for Monday, April 22, 2019 at our annual meeting. We are now accepting candidate applications for our board positions with expiring terms.
Please consider sharing your time and leadership skills. The SAHA Board of Directors works on behalf of the SAHA membership to ensure the wellbeing and success of the association as a whole.
The terms for four board positions are expiring this election cycle. Where “incumbent” is indicated, the sitting member whose term is expiring, is planning to run again this cycle:

Each person elected to one of the positions listed above will serve a two-year term from May 2019 – April, 2021. Active members of SAHA, in good standing, are eligible to run for board positions. Board members are required to attend board meetings throughout the year (the 4th Monday of each month) where recommendations, discussions and decisions are made. In addition, board members are assigned roles and responsibilities that will require time outside of board meetings to execute the board’s agenda for the year.
Nomination Process and Election Timeline
Members interested in serving on the board need to be nominated by an active SAHA member.
The nominator should submit the candidate’s nomination to the chairman of the Nomination Committee at least 35 days (by Monday, March 18, 2019) prior to the annual meeting.
Interested candidates should contact a member of the nomination committee via email with any questions or inquiries.
The submission period for candidate interest applications will close at 11:59pm on March 18. There are no exceptions.
All candidates should submit letters to the chairman no later than April 1, 2019.
The Nomination Committee shall nominate at least one person for each office to be filled and report its nominees at the monthly meeting, on March 25, 2019, before the annual meeting.
March 26 – April 22, 2019: Candidates announced and campaign letters will be posted throughout this time on our website for members to review.
April 22, 2019: Election will be held during the annual board meeting from 6-8pm at the Stillwater Family Building. Election results will be tallied at the end of the meeting and the winner will be announced.

If you want to make a difference when it comes to SAHA hockey, our association, our players, and our member families’ youth hockey experience, please get involved! Volunteers are the backbone of our program. Role descriptions for each position are posted in our by-laws on stillwaterhockey.net.
Additional questions about areas of responsibilities, time commitment and generally what-to-expect would be best addressed by speaking with any member of the board or, preferably, directly with the board member currently in the position you are seeking.
We encourage all members to attend board meetings to learn and better understand how the association is ran.
